ERIK TEN HAG claims Manchester United are a "long way" off a title challenge after he inherited a “no good culture”.
He told AD Sportwereld: “Rangnick was absolutely right.
"We’ve been working very hard on that for two years, but he said it just right - it’s a thorough, very complex operation.
“And I knew when I started that it was going to be a tough job.
"There are a lot of people who have advised me - Louis van Gaal (ex-United chief) too.
“We want this club back to where it was more than a decade ago, to a club that wins the Premier League, which can win Champions Leagues. We are really a long way away from that, I think."
MANCHESTER UNITED'S clash with Rangers has been delayed by 15 minutes.
The pre-season friendly was due to kick off at Murrayfield at 4pm.
That was to allow all fans to enter the stadium in time for kick-off.
There were big queues outside Scotland's rugby ground as fans flocked to see Erik ten Hag's side play their first game north of the border since 2012.
United tweeted an update for supporters which read: "Due to queues around the ground for entry, kick-off at Murrayfield has been delayed until 16:15 BST.
"Thank you to fans from both sides for your magnificent support ❤️💙"
The 18-year-old centre-back is making his debut for the Red Devils today in their pre-season friendly against Rangers - just one day after his first training session with his new team-mates.
Yoro follows in the footsteps of Nemanja Vidic, Paul Scholes and David Beckham in choosing the number.
In more recent times, it has been worn by Sergio Reguilon and Marcel Sabitzer.
Scott McTominay was back at Carrington this week as planned after crashing out the Euros in the group stages with Scotland.
The midfielder, who has been heavily linked with a transfer away, underwent testing on his first day back earlier this week.
He then joined in training with the rest of the squad.
But with his fitness potentially a tad behind the rest of his team-mates', it remains to be seen whether he will get on the pitch on home soil versus Rangers.
Man Utd stars as Marcus Rashford, Mason Mount, Casemiro, Johnny Evans and Aaron Wan Bissaka all started in the 1-0 loss to Rosenborg earlier this week.
And Erik ten Hag is ready to welcome more big names back to the team for the clash against Rangers this afternoon.
Andre Onana, Victor Lindelof, Antony and Amad Diallo are set to all feature.
