"Hopefully I can keep doing what I've been doing and enjoy it.

"Winning tomorrow would be up there with the best moments of my career.

"I've got such a tough game against Kyren though. He is playing some great stuff and even when he isn't he is so hard to beat these days.

  • Murphy's admission

Shaun Murphy has admitted he doesn't know how much he has left in the tank.

He said: "I said to some friends that what I'd achieved might sink in when I'm introduced by (MC) Rolf Kalb as the Masters champion.

"That has certainly been the case. To be introduced as a major winner again, has certainly given me an extra bit of bounce in my step.

"More importantly it has given me that self belief. "I can assure you that there was a post-Masters hangover.

"Absolutely there was, if you’d have asked me to play snooker on Tuesday that would’ve been very difficult.

"I was quite honest and said afterwards that I wanted to try and really push on now.

"I really want to ring out every last drop of potential from whatever’s left of my career.

"Maybe there could be 10 years, maybe there’s only five years. Who knows.

"But I really am determined to push on and not have such a big gap between successes."

  • Robertson's hope

Neil Robertson is hoping that when he flies to Australia to pick up a prestigious individual gong he will be bringing the Crucible trophy home.

The Melbourne-born cueist has been awarded the Medal of the Order by the Australian Government – which means he can have the OAM title after his full name.

This is in recognition of his outstanding achievements and service in the sport of snooker, specifically his world title win in Sheffield 15 years ago.

At some point, he will need to fly to Oz to receive the honour from officials – possibly in the capital Canberra – and the dream would be to go there with some extra silverware in his suitcase.

Robertson, 42, said: “That would be sensational, wouldn’t it? That would be awesome. To win at the Crucible before going out there.

“I believe there are events in April, May and September where you can pick up the OAM.

"So, I am hoping the May one is in the middle of the month after the Crucible has finished.

“That would be perfect timing, go home, see my family, That would be a really, really proud moment.”

  • Nailed on!

KYREN WILSON’S march to the German Masters snooker final was delayed — by a NAIL!

Last year’s world champ saw off Xiao Guodong 6-2 in his semi-final at  Berlin’s Tempodrom.

But not before play had to be stopped because of a nail sticking out of the arena’s carpet.

The Warrior from Kettering was 10-1 up in the opening frame when he realised it was in his way.

  • Allen's not a fan though

Despite Trump's claims, Mark Allen threatened to BOYCOTT the German Masters in a fiery social media rant.

The Northern Irishman, who clinched the 2018 title in Berlin, is not a fan of the Tempodrom venue.

He vented on X: "Not to be in this years German Masters. Well done to Wu.

"Anyone who sees me back at this event under current conditions has permission to tell me off. Thanks in advance."
