Two men in UK charged with spying for China
Two men have been charged with spying for China, the Crown Prosecution Service said.
Nick Price, the head of the CPS special crime and counter-terrorism division, said it had “authorised the Metropolitan police to charge two men with espionage offences”.
He said Christopher Berry, 32, and Christopher Cash, 29, would be charged with providing prejudicial information to a foreign state, China, and would appear at Westminster magistrates court on Friday.
“Criminal proceedings against the defendants are active,” Price said in a statement. “No one should report, comment or share information online which could in any way prejudice their right to a fair trial.”
