The MTV VMAs always manages to bring out the stars and this year's awards at the UBS Arena in New York are no different, with pop royalty like Mariah Carey, Sabrina Carpenter and Ricky Martin all on the bill. In terms of the awards themselves, Lady Gaga (another performer on the night) is rolling things back like it's 2010, as she leads the overall nominations with 12 including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Album. Die With a Smile collaborator Bruno Mars is next in line on 11, with Kendrick Lamar (10), Sabrina Carpenter (9) and Rosé (8) not far behind.
With the VMAs a fixture on the awards calendar for more than 40 years, LL Cool J is set to host alone for the first time. He'll be joined on stage by a parade of famous presenters, with Drew Barrymore, Ice Spice and Paris Hilton all confirmed. Plus, there will be an appearance from the singers behind this year's breakout act Huntr/x, flushed with the success of Netflix record breaker KPop Demon Hunters.
