ANTHONY GORDON was sent off for lashing out at Jan Paul van Hecke and will miss the Carabao Cup final.
The Newcastle star tussled with the Brighton defender as the ball run out of play during their FA Cup fifth round clash.
Van Hecke had a grasp of Gordon's shirt before the red mist descended.
The England winger lost his cool and angrily struck the Brighton defender around the head.
He was red carded by referee Anthony Taylor and Gordon will now serve a three-match ban for violent conduct.
It means he will be banned for the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool on March 16.
Gordon is also set to miss the Premier League games either side of the trip to Wembley against West Ham and Brentford.
