Scientists have moved the clock the closest it has ever been to the feared midnight hour.

The update came at 3pm UK time or 10am local time in Washington DC from The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists which organises the clock.

This clock symbolises how close the world has come to a deadly and horrific nuclear apocalypse.

Scientists use midnight as an indicator that Armageddon will break out.

Therefore the closer the hands are to midnight, the closer mankind is to a devastating nuclear war.

Experts warned that "advances in an array of disruptive technologies" was partially to blame for the terrifying change.

These warning areas included biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and space.

The clock was set at just 90 seconds to midnight in both 2024 and 2023.

In 2024 the scientists who created the clock explained that the threats posed by evil Vladimir Putin and his war with Ukraine continue.

The Bulletin president and CEO Rachel Bronson added that the horror October 7 attacks in Israel was an extra source of concern.

Since the 2024 announcement, certain potentially world-shattering fears have worsened.

Putin's war of terror in Ukraine has intensified as the evil dictator began using a new arsenal of weapons.

Mad Vlad launched Oreshnik hypersonic ballistic missiles at his neighbour in November 2024.

The Pentagon warned that although the weapon was fired with conventional warheads - Moscow could still modify the weapon to carry a nuclear payload.

A spokesperson revealed that Russia's move—using a never-before-fired missile—was viewed as "experimental" in Washington.

The world has also been gripped by more global health fears after people were hospitalised with what scientists feared was a 'Disease X'.

Two people in Europe fell ill after being infected with a mystery pathogen in December 2024.

These unnamed people had visited the Democratic Republic of Congo showed up at different hospitals in Italy with signs of the little-known disease.
