Four best ‘bang for your buck’ cars you can buy for less than £15k – including Mercedes with ‘timeless quality’
A CAR dealer has revealed the four best "bang for your buck" motors you can buy for under £8,000.
You could pick up a "timeless" Mercedes or even a Maserati for about the same price as the UK's cheapest new car.
Matthew Goodwin from High Peak Autos ran petrolheads through some of the best deals on the second-hand market via his YouTube channel.
He said: "Somebody suggested I do a video on the best bang for your buck cars.
"While I'm not a fan of that term, I do like the idea.
"There are so many bargains out there in the used car world.

"Cars which started out expensive but now, thanks to depreciation, aren't."
BMW i3
The i3 is a bit of a rarity these days in that it's an extremely cheap electric car.
But the "range extender" version that Matthew was interested is the hybrid variant.
This uses a petrol engine to power what is effectively an onboard generator, meaning it is driven on electricity and is very economical.
He managed to find a 2015 example with just 54,000 miles on the clock for a very reasonable £9,299.
Mercedes E-Class
The E-Class has gone through some serious depreciation over the years based on online listings.
A new one will set you back £54,000 these days, but Matthew found a 2012 model that had clocked only 85,000 miles in the last decade for £6,450.
And if that's a bit too old for you, there was still a 2016 E-Class on the same site for £12,995.
The motors whizz added: "You get all the luxuries you'd expect from Mercedes.
"They just have a timeless quality about them.
"How classy is that?"
BMW 6-Series
Continuing the theme of luxury cars on a shoestring budget, you can buy a 6-Series Beemer from 2012 for £10,295.
For that, you'll get a whopping 313 horsepower and a plush interior that makes mile-munching a breeze.
Given that its successor, the 8-Series, costs around £78,000, the older model is a real bargain.
Maserati Ghibli
Maserati is one of the most prestigious names in the world of motor manufacturing, responsible for some of the best, and most expensive, supercars ever seen.
However, not all of their models run into the hundreds of thousands.
The Ghibli saloon (the third generation after it was revived in 2013) can be found for stunningly low prices.
Matthew picked one out from 2015 with only 74,000 miles on it, listed at just £13,990.

That's only about £200 more than the UK's cheapest new car, the Dacia Sandero.
Yet for roughly the same price, the Ghibli can top out at 203mph to the Sandero's 113mph.
