The MINKY SureDri balcony airer comes with 12 metres of dry space which is perfect for drying your clothes indoors.

The nifty appliance can also hold up to 16kg worth of clothing, bed sheets and other household bits.

It costs around 5p per hour to run too with a 230watt power, which is much cheaper than blasting on the heating.

Shoppers can buy the energy-saving device online with delivery costing from £3.99 and ranging up to £9.99.

You can also pick it up from your local store via click and collect for free using the "Check stores near you" tool on Currys' website.

Of course, remember when buying anything, including gadgets like this, to shop around for the best deal.

Just because one retailer has slashed the price of a product, that doesn't mean you can't get something similar cheaper elsewhere.

You can use the Google Shopping/Product tab to have a quick scan of the internet to see what else is out there.

There are also a number of websites where you can compare prices on thousands of products to see which retailer has it cheapest.

Price Runner, Price Spy and Trolley are all worth using, with Trolley more focused on the major supermarkets.

Save money on your energy bills with these cold weather tips

We had a quick look online to see if there are any other retailers selling a 230W heated airer for less than £39.99 but couldn't actually find any.

Robert Dyas has a 230W winged heated airer for £39.99 with delivery costing £3.95 or nothing if your basket is worth over £40.

Dunelm is also selling one for £40 with delivery costing from £3.95.

How else to save money on energy bills this winter

Energy bills have fallen from massive highs at the end of 2022 and into 2023.

But under the current Ofgem price cap the average household paying by direct debit and on a dual-fuel tariff is still paying £1,717 a year for their gas and electricity.

Luckily, there are a number of ways to slash bills, particularly over the winter months when heating costs tend to rise.

First, you want to start by ditching your tumble dryer if you've got one, as they guzzle through energy.

A better option for drying clothes is putting your washing machine on an extra spin cycle then letting them dry around your home.

Or, you can buy a heated airer to dry your clothes which will cost much less than putting the heating on.

Adjusting your thermostat down by a couple of degrees is another quick-fire way to slash your energy bill.

The Energy Saving Trust says most people should have theirs set to between 18°C and 21°C.

If you can, turning yours down from 22°C to 21°C can save £90 a year if you live in Great Britain, it said.

Another motto worth living by is "heat the human not the home", which means wrapping yourself up rather than putting the heating on.

While this may seem obvious, you might not know about some tech-based clothing that can keep you warm like USB gloves or heated gilets.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
