Premier League Darts LIVE RESULTS: Luke Littler vs Luke Humphries latest updates on HUGE opening night

  • Littler hits back at MVG

Luke Littler hit back at Michael van Gerwen’s taunts by vowing: I can handle the Premier League big boys.

Three-time world champion MVG was asked if he will help protect the youngster.

But the Dutchman, 34, replied: “Of course not. Welcome to the big boys. Those days have gone. He’s not a youth player any more.

“Now you’ve got to battle against each other on the stage, there cannot be any mercy.

“You have to fight for every leg, every game. Everyone plays for themselves.”

  • What Sir Alex said to Littler

Luke Littler has revealed that he was told to “keep at it” by his idol Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Warrington wonderkid met up with the legendary Scottish Manchester United boss on a recent trip to Old Trafford.

Littler, 17, then went back to meet up with the full squad at their Carrington training ground a week ago.

On Sir Alex the youngster said: “I didn’t really catch much of what he said. But I did hear him say ‘keep at it’."
