The OA, tells the captivating story of Prairie Johnson (played by Brit Marling).

After being missing for seven years, Prairie returns to her hometown with the extraordinary ability to see, despite having been blind before.

The mystery drama unfolded in two parts, with the initial eight episodes airing in 2016.

And then in 2019, fans were hit with another eight episodes of that gripping mystery drama.

Viewers were psyched, eagerly waiting to see how the story would unfold. But then, out of nowhere, the show got the axe.

Despite all the rave reviews, the die-hard fan base, and that jaw-dropping cliffhanger that left us hanging, Netflix just pulled the plug.

Even though it's been ages, fans still haven't given up hope. They've been rallying for a revival, making sure to flood social media with the hashtag '#SaveTheOA'.

Because the show is still making waves online, every now and then, it pops up as a hot trend, with fans pouring out their love for the story.

Many went crazy when the show started trending again recently, and they questioned if this meant The OA was returning to screens.

Taking to X/Twitter, one wrote: "I saw The OA trending and to say that my heart jumped out of my chest thinking S3 was happening is an understatement….. So disappointed that isn’t the case. We need to keep talking about it! Come on @netflix we need more!"

A second added: "I saw #TheOA was trending and I’ve never hit a trend so fast in my life thinking, hoping, PRAYING it meant a season 3 was coming. It’s not."
