Bol chased down the US team in the final turn of the race to snatch the gold for her country.

The 24-year-old helped her side finish the race in 3:07.43, just barely missing the world record time that Team USA had set the day prior at 3:07.41.

But fans have been more impressed with her voice than her gold medal success as many have likened it to the popular fictional Disney character Mickey Mouse.

And on X this resurfaced an old clip of a BBC interview in March Bol went viral for after breaking the indoor 400m world record because of her "Mickey Mouse voice."

Bol who was one of the favourites going into the 400m hurdle event stunned the crowd after winning her heat in a time of 53.38 seconds on Sunday morning.

Why is the Olympic track purple?

Athletics icon Carl Lewis unveiled the new look purple track, which was designed by Italian company Mondo.

It is made of rubber, covers an area of around 17,000 square metres and has been extended from eight to nine lanes.

President of the Paris 2024 Organising Committee Tony Estanguet revealed that the idea was to create a more "joyful and festive" tone to the track.

It will feature three colours, two shades of purple (one lighter, closer to lavender and the other darker) and grey on the outside of the track.

Mondo have seen three hundred world records broken since the Italian company produced the tracks since 1972.

And it is hoped that many more will be broken at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
