Arsenal star deletes Instagram

A forgotten Arsenal star has deleted his social media account after being dropped from the matchday squad yesterday.

Portuguese left-back Nuno Tavares arrived from Benfica back in 2021 for £7million.

Tavares failed to convince boss Mikel Arteta of his capabilities during pre-season and he headed to Nottingham Forest for what is supposed to be a season-long loan on deadline day.

The Portugal U21 international has struggled at City Ground and has so far only started once and come off the bench twice for them in the Premier League.

Yesterday boss Steve Cooper left him out of the squad completely for Forest’s 3-2 home defeat to Brighton.

And Tavares has reacted to that Forest snub by deleting his Instagram account.

Ramsdale breaks silence

Aaron Ramsdale has spoken about his bond with Arsenal fans and how happy he is with the Gunners.

Taking to Instagram after playing against Brentford, he wrote: "A feeling I never take for granted (Football emoji) (Heart emoji).

"Love being part of this club. Fans were next level last night looking out for me.

"Thank you (Heart emoji)."

Now the Daily Star claim Wolves have put the England star top of their wanted list.

Ramsdale returned to the Gunners' side for Saturday's 1-0 Premier League win at Brentford.

But that was only due to summer recruit David Raya not being allowed to play against his parent club.

The suggestion is Wolves fancy a loan deal for Ramsdale with an agreement to buy him permanently in the summer.

Partey on three-man shortlist

Thomas Partey is one of three players on a shortlist of Premier League midfielders wanted by Juventus.

The Arsenal midfielder has struggled with injuries this term.

And his future has been questioned, with manager Mikel Arteta using him in the right back position and Declan Rice starring in the middle of the park.

Now, Foot Mercato claims Partey is being eyed up by the Serie A side, who are also tracking Man City's Kalvin Phillips and Tottenham's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Osimhen latest

Arsenal have puut Victor Osimhen on top of their transfer list, according to reports.

LondonWorld claim the Gunners could move for the Napoli striker, leaving a move for Ivan Toney in doubt.

The Nigerian reportedly has as a £125million price tag on his head.

The report adds that the Gunners would have to wait until the summer.

Frank assessment

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has called Arsenal wingers Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli the best in the league.

Speaking after the Bees were beaten by the Gunners, he wrote: "I think we did a top job to keep two of the best wingers in the league quiet throughout the game.

"It was just one top action from Saka in the end, and great movement from (Kai) Havertz.”

Unai Emery has given an update on Douglas Luiz's transfer with Aston Villa's top-four rivals.

Wonderkid’s new contract

Arsenal have reportedly agreed terms on a new contract for youth sensation Chido Obi-Martin.

The prospect went viral recently for bagging 10 goals in a single game against Liverpool.

Obi-Martin, 15, stole the show for the Arsenal U-16s as he helped himself to goals in the 14-3 win over the Reds.

The Standard have claimed that he has already agreed to a scholarship deal with Arsenal.

The report has suggested that this has been the case since last year.

It goes on to say that he will be one of the Gunners’ scholars for the 2024/25 season.

Obi-Martin will be able to sign a professional contract on his 17th birthday which is November next year.

Arteta’s record

Mikel Arteta managed the club for the 200th time against Brentford.

And the 1-0 win meant he recorded 116 victories for the club during that time.

Incredibly, that’s better than Arsene Wenger managed in his first 200 games, with the Frenchman getting 111 wins.

It was almost the perfect defensive performance in so many ways against a very, very good offensive team.

There are a lot of positives to take from the game. In the moment it is frustrating to take, but we need to focus on the performances.

Arteta hopes for better

Mikel Arteta has insisted that Arsenal can get better following their 1-0 win over Brentford.

He said: "I hope I am, I hope we can be better and better, and adapt, because as well the reality is that we have lost a lot of players.

"A lot of attacking players in this first period of the league and the team continues to win, and find ways to win.

"Today I put on another attacking player as I suspected what they were going to do, and it’s what we needed.

"Everybody was really good, I think. 

Ramsdale could look for move

The Arsenal goalkeeper has struggled for game time this season thanks to the arrival of David Raya.

Aaron Ramsdale was one of the club’s best performers last season and earned himself a spot in the England set-up.

It was expected that he would push Jordan Pickford for the starting role at the Three Lions, however, his place is now at risk in the team.

Gareth Southgate may look at stoppers who have played more regularly than Ramsdale which could see the places handed to the likes of Nick Pope, Sam Johnstone or Jason Steele.
