Big Brother’s Olivia breaks silence on Love Island rumours after coming second on ITV2 show

BIG Brother star Olivia Young has revealed she is unlikely to take part in Love Island.

Fans were hoping to see the show’s runner up look for love on ITV’s other big programme – but Olivia admitted she wasn’t ready to show that side of herself.

Asked if she would do Love Island following her stint in the house, the Scottish dancer told The Sun: “I don’t know, it’s a different part of yourself to give away if you do a dating or romance based show.

“So that’s why I chose to do Big Brother because obviously we could have applied for Love Island but I never saw myself fitting in there.

“I applied for BB because I grew up watching it and I always said if it ever comes back, I want to do it.”

She continued: “I showed so much of me, that I don’t know if I would want to give away that vulnerable side of me, I don’t know if I’m ready to give the world because they’ve seen everything else.”

During her time on Big Brother some viewers questioned her relationship with Paul, who has a girlfriend.

But speaking after her exit, Olivia again insisted it was platonic, saying:  "It is literally me in the male form. I have never met someone who is like me in so many ways.

“I love you, pal, but it is totally a platonic relationship, and I was uncomfortable thinking people might think this."

Meanwhile, an industry expert has predicted she will make big money off the back of the show.

Brand and popular culture expert Nick Ede, 49, heaped praise on Olivia’s bubbly character, including her “quick wit” and “loads of energy”.

The guru said she could be in line to land lucrative clothing, social media and broadcast deals, and even perform onstage in pantomimes.

Mr Ede has also backed her burgeoning celebrity status to earn her more big bucks and said she could pocket around £500,000 over the next year, eclipsing the BB jackpot.

He said: “She’s gorgeous and I’m sure a fast fashion brand will pick her up quickly and offer her a deal. She will get Instagram and TikTok deals aplenty and make money from personal appearances and tv and radio gigs - she’s potentially the most bankable star in the house.

“With her quick wit, Scottish accent and loads of energy I can see her being used for ad campaigns and loads more and even being paid big money for panto appearances too. I think she could make half a million in the next year at least.”
