What Victoria’s Secret models really look like before & after makeup – as Angels show behind-the-scenes from the show

THE iconic Victoria’s Secret fashion show is back with a bang, featuring some of the most elite supermodels from around the globe.

Stars such as Gigi and Bella Hadid, Tyra Banks and Adriana Lima strutted their stuff on the catwalk - and pictures showed the transformation process to create the ‘Angel’ look.

After a six-year hiatus, 51 glamorous models from around 25 countries flocked backstage ahead of the event as they prepared to hit the runway.

And of course, the beautiful women had their flawless hair and make-up done in the famous pink striped Victoria’s Secrets robes.

Behind the model’s hair was stylist Duffy’s team, while the mastermind behind the make-up was the creative talents of Diane Kendal.

Unsurprisingly given they are among the top earning models in the world, the Angels looked picture-perfect before and after their glam process. 

But here’s who was seen in the make-up chairs…

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid was chosen to open the Victoria's Secret show - held this year in New York - and was seen preparing for the big moment backstage.

The sought-after supermodel - who was making her fourth appearance for the brand - looked fresh-faced as she sat in the make-up chair waiting for her glam transformation.

The end result - with smoky eyes and a deep lip - looked sensational.

Barbara Pavlin

Victoria's Secret favourite Barbara Palvin was also back this year and looked delighted as she beamed make-up-free backstage.

After clipping back her brunette locks for ease, she was given a natural-looking face of make-up.

Her hair was worn down in a bombshell blowdry, which looked incredible alongside her angel wings.

Candice Swanepoel

When you think of the Victoria's Secret fashion shows, Candice Swanepoel's name may spring to mind, which is understandable given the model has walked in 11 previous shows.

The supermodel was not missing out on the action this year, and was seen undergoing the transformation process backstage.

Candice was given a fierce-looking sleek ponytail which accentuated her striking lingerie looks.

Adriana Lima

Famous Brazilian model Adriana Lima returned to the VS Fashion Show in a plaid-themed look complete with sexy cut-out lingerie.

Shots backstage showed her eye-popping look being created with a high ponytail.

Adriana was a Victoria's Secret Angel from 1999 to 2018, and also the longest-running model for the brand, with her even dubbed "the most valuable Victoria's Secret Angel" in 2017.

Irina Shayk

Russian model Irina Shayk dazzled as she worked the runway in a black, star-adorned lingerie ensemble.

Backstage, the brunette beauty was seen preparing for her runway look by wearing a hydrating face mask.

It was her first time walking in the show since the 2016 event, where she famously concealed her baby bump.

Valentina Sampaio

Valentina Sampaio made history this year being one of two trans models to walk in the show - the other star being Alex Consani.

Sitting in a VS backstage chair without a swipe of make-up, they looked like they could have rocked the runway bare-faced.

The finished bombshell look was jaw-dropping, however, with teased-out curly locks and golden-glow cosmetics.

Joan Smalls

Another recognisable face back for the show was Joan Smalls, who previously appeared in their 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 runways.

Joan smouldered on the catwalk, with flawless male-up and showstopping hair, as she rocked her black wings.

Before the show, she was seen cuddling up to pal Gigi as they waited for their glam teams.
