Coronation Street star Jenny Platt hasn’t aged a day as she breaks silence on shock return after 16 years

CORONATION Street star Jenny Platt has broken her silence on her shock return after 16 years.

On Monday it was revealed Jenny would be reprising her role as Violet Wilson and returning to Weatherfield.

Violet was last in Weatherfield in 2008 after she gave birth to her son, Dylan Wilson, with father Sean Tully.

Jenny will be returning as part of son Dylan’s harrowing storyline which has seen him become involved in bullying Liam Connor.

Now the actress has taken to Instagram to share a snap from the set alongside Antony Cotton - who plays Sean - and Liam McCheyne, who plays Dylan.

The trio posed happily together in Eileen Grimshaw's living room and Jenny wrote: "Well this has been fun!!! So lovely to be reunited with my screen son @liammccheyne and his Daddy @antonycotton after giving birth to him in the Rovers 15 years ago!! How time flies."

Jenny was immediately inundated with messages from Coronation Street fans, with many saying she looks exactly the same as she did when she left all those years ago.

One wrote: "Welcome back, you haven’t aged a bit."

Another added: "You've not aged a day! What's your secret??"

Others were excited for Violet's return, with one writing: "Oh my days! Violet returns! I’m having a neckerchief flashback! Hurray!"

Another commented: "Great reunion looking forward to this.wish it was permanent but will enjoy the episodes.Good to have you back x."

A fellow fan shared: "Sooooo happy your returning can't wait to see u back on our screens."

Dylan was recently exposed for his involvement in the bullying of Liam Connor, alongside ringleader Mason Radcliffe. 

In the coming months, Dylan will be facing the serious repercussions of his actions and will be needing the support of both his parents. 

Her return will air on Wednesday 20th March 2024.
