At least one dead and two injured after tourist coach crashes with lorry at popular Greek island

A BUS packed with tourists has crashed with a lorry in a popular holiday hotspot, leaving at least one dead and two injured.

The horror smash took place in near Marmaras of Barbari, in the Greek island of Corfu.

According to iefimerida.gr, the bus was coming from Paleokastritsa and at the height of Tzavros it deviated from its course - hitting a parked truck.

Local media reports say that the truck driver has been seriously injured but the bus driver has died.

Firefighters and paramedics have also rushed to the scene of Sunday afternoon's crash.

It is understood that most of the tourists have left the coach, but some could still be inside, Greek outlet Kerkyrasimera reports.

Elsewhere in Greece, A Brit tourist tragically died after being pulled unconscious from the water.

The woman, 66, was swimming at Achladies beach in Skiathos and reportedly lost consciousness due to the sweltering heat.

The Brit was on holiday in Greece and went down from her hotel to the beach for a swim on Friday, CNN Greece reports.
