I went inside an abandoned ‘Mafia mansion’ raided by the FBI – with beautiful hand-painted ceilings and a swimming pool

AN abandoned home has become the source of intrigue for one reason: it used to belong to a mafia family.

A curious explorer revealed what’s left inside.

A TikTok account called @decayingmidwest, which explores old, dilapidated homes, took viewers inside a sinister mansion.

“This mansion was owned by the Mafia, and this is what was inside,” they began in the clip, stating that it was now abandoned.

The exterior of the home was grand, with a large stone stairway leading to the front door, which was framed by huge, ornate columns and stately windows.

There were several balconies and terraces around the house as well.

While it was clearly falling apart, the landscape remained intact —which added to the regal aesthetic.

One of the first rooms that caught their attention featured “a massive indoor pool,” which had a diving board over it and a decorative rock wall and fireplace next to it.

There was also a classic spiral staircase with an iron railing in the center of the house, and above it a dome ceiling that featured classic Italian paintings, reminiscent of The Vatican.

This wasn’t the only hand-painted dome ceiling, as the foyer featured one that showcased a sort of animalistic man playing the flute, and a bathroom had one demonstrating more Roman imagery.

The family photos lying around exhibited a lifestyle imbued by extreme wealth.

One of the more eerie discoveries was a safe, whose door was now swung wide open because it was “emptied by the FBI.”

The fact that there was still food in the kitchen likely signifies the residents were forced to leave in a hurry.

Viewers were in awe of the space.

“If these walls could talk,” one person wrote.

“I swear that’s Tony Soprano’s house,” another imagined.

“Makes me want to wear a white robe and watch my ducks in the pool while I eat gabagool,” a third quipped, referencing The Sopranos.
