Emotional Amy Dowden shares new snap as her hair grows back after Strictly star’s cancer treatment
STRICTLY star Amy Dowden has returned to social media after an extended break as she recovers following treatment for breast cancer.
The professional dancer broke her silence with a new photo of her hair growing back and she reminded to fans to check themselves for lumps.
The 33 year old showed fans the difference in just a few weeks shared: "Hey hey, thank you for all the lovely messages the last few weeks. Sorry for being a little silent here. I needed a little time and space.
"I'm still missing and craving what I should be doing but starting to accept I need to be patient."
Amy continued: "After a crazy week of hospital tests and apts last week, Ben and I then went away for a few days and it's exactly what we both needed.
"Hope 2024 has been treating you all well. Once again, thanks for all the love and of course I need to remind you, have you checked yourself yet this year? If not get checking."

It comes after Amy recovered from a fresh health blow last month - just three weeks after finishing chemotherapy treatment.
The professional dancer was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with a blood clot on the lung.
Doctors had feared it was on its way to her heart, however, further inspection established that was not the case.
Amy, who also lives with Crohn's Disease, was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in May.
She underwent a full mastectomy before having chemotherapy and was also found to have had blood clots in the summer.
Despite her myriad setbacks, Amy rang the bell at her hospital three weeks ago to signal the end of her cancer treatment, and she had hoped to dance on Strictly in some capacity before the end of the year.
However, a newly-fractured foot meant that dream was shattered and her big comeback will have to wait a little longer.
The Welsh beauty did however manage to make a surprise appearance during Strictly's grand finale.
Amy looked stunning in an asymmetrical white gown with a black ruffled sleeve as she hit the ballroom floor.
