And her worst fears were confirmed when she looked underneath the slats on his bed, only to be greeted with the unwelcome sight of toxic fuzz.

"My mould mission hasn't finished today," she says, in a clip shared to TikTok (@miseenplace_au).

"I came into my son's bedroom to give it a little tidy a little freshen up and I could smell mould right.

"So, I came onto the bed I lent back here and I now see mould on all the slats of his bunk bed."

She then goes on to show it to her social media followers, adding: "It's soooo bad - and he sleeps right underneath!"

However, Anita, who refers to herself as 'the Queen of hacks,' notes that it's lucky she knows what to do - and it's all thanks to a 3-ingredient DIY solution..

First off, she says: "Wipe down with half isopropyl, half water solution."

Next, the cleaning whizz sprays on her mould prevention solution which is comprised of 10 drops clove oil, 10 drops tea tree oil and 100ml white vinegar."

She adds: "Leave it on to dry.

"Don't wipe away!"

Anita captioned the post: "How to clean mould."

Anita's post quickly went viral, racking up thousands of views and several comments from social media users.

"Oil of cloves is absolutely gold, it actually kills the mould spores, unlike bleach that just covers it up." wrote one.

A second penned: "I’ve never seen mould so bad as it is right now it’s everywhere."

Experts from bathroom retailer Plumbworld have also advising using white vinegar.

They said: "Vinegar is a great option for killing mould.

"It may smell unpleasant, but it won’t have the toxicity of bleach.
