Ghosts fans convinced they’ve spotted show star on Masked Singer saying ‘he has to be Dippy Egg’
GHOSTS fans are convinced a star of the BBC sitcom has taken on a new role on The Masked Singer.
The ITV show's Dippy Egg character has caused huge speculation - with some previously suggesting the cheery character is an Emmerdale star.
Others reckon Inside No. 9 star Reece Shearsmith is the man behind the foodie face.
Yet now The Masked Singer viewers think an actor from the BBC comedy, featuring spooks from an array of historical periods, belted out the vocals to Daydream Believer by The Monkees.
They believe Jim Howick, who plays Pat, is the star, with one musing on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Only me that thinks Dippy Egg is Pat/Jim Howick???"
Another posted: "Mat Baynton or Jim Howick?"

A third then put: "On second listen I may change my answer to Jim Howick."
Jim, 44, is an English actor and writer who has also starred in Stag, Sex Education and Peep Show.
One clue given by the foodie treat is the person behind the mask '"works with animals".
And although the character speaks with a Yorkshire accent - and Jim is from Chichester - him being an actor might mean he's putting on a dialect to confuse fans.
In the VT, Dippy Egg is also seen holding a microphone that's unplugged, which some believe to be a clue.
Additionally, some eagle-eyed viewers think that soap star Kevin Fletcher is the crazy character.
Kevin is best known for playing Andy Sugden in Emmerdale between 1996 and 2016.
He also won Strictly alongside Oti Mabuse in 2019.
Meanwhile, singing sensation Dionne Warwick was first to be voted out last weekend, in her role as Weather.
