I’m a nursery worker & we secretly rate parents on the state they send kids to us in – unlabelled clothes are a huge no
A NURSERY worker has rated the things that parents bring their kids to nursery in, revealing both the things she loves and her biggest pet peeves.
Kirsten Rimkey shared her nursery likes and dislikes via a series of videos posted to her TikTok channel @kirstenrinkey.
"Rating things parents send their children in to daycare as a childcare worker", she said.
The first thing that winds Kirsten up that parents do is bringing their children to nursery in pull up nappies.
This is because they are much trickier to get off than normal nappies so can slow nursery workers down when they have lots of children's nappies to change.
Kirsten also admitted she hates it when children come to nursery with toys from their home.

"Toys from home are the worst for me", she said.
If kids bring in toys from home, they can easily get lost or broken and could lead to jealousy between children.
Another of Kirsten's pet peeves is when parents bring a whole bag of wipes with them.
"They all come out at once, and storage is sometimes and issue", she said.
In a second video, Kirsten revealed that she is not a fan of parents who bring their kids to nursery without any extra clothes.
This is because children often get their clothes dirty at nursery, while doing activities such as arts and crafts, or playing outside.
She also revealed that she hates it when kids come to childcare wearing expensive jewellery, as this could easily get lost.
The nursery worker added that she dislikes it when parents give their children sweets to take with them.
In a third video, Kirsten revealed the types of parents she loved.
What help is available to parents for childcare costs?
CHILDCARE can be a costly business. Here is how you can get help.
- 30 hours free childcare - Parents of three and four-year-olds can apply for 30 hours free childcare a week.
To qualify you must work at least 16 hours a week at the national living or minimum wage and earn less than £100,000 a year. - Tax credits - For children under 20, some families can get help with childcare costs.
- Tax-free childcare - Available to working families and the self-employed, for every £8 you put in the government will add an extra £2.
She said she loves it when parents bring their kids to nursery with clothes that are labelled, as this prevents them from getting lost.
She added that she also likes it when parents bring their children an extra hat and mittens, to make sure that they are always warm and cosy.
Kirsten's video has likely struck a chord with many people, as she has racked up over 607,000 views on the video sharing platform.
TikTok users raced to the video's comments section to share their thoughts on her nursery pet peeves.
One user said: "I have pull ups for home but have normal nappies for nursery as I know pull ups are a pain".
Another user said: "As a former pre-school teacher I 100% agree.

"I used to write notes at home saying do not bring these exact items."
A third person added: "I send my daughter in clothes I know she’ll get messy in. Sometimes she gets changed twice a day.
