I’ve made 3 tiny changes to my makeup routine to look younger – an eyeliner swap makes my skin look brighter
IF you've noticed that your go-to makeup look isn't hitting like it used to, here are three minor changes you can make.
A beauty fan demonstrated how her hacks made her skin look younger and brighter.
In her video, Liz (@projectvanitycom) revealed the "three things that I changed when doing my makeup to have a more youthful look."
For her first recommendation, the TikToker explained the changes she made to her color palette.
"I used to go for more warm smoky brown colors but lately I’m favoring more muted pinks, muted peaches, even plums," she told viewers.
Liz showed her audience a side-by-side comparison of her former and current makeup looks.
"I think that it’s a more trendy color story rather than going for deeper warmer browns," she said.
Next, she discussed the importance of softer contour for more mature skin.
"The trick is contouring well and contouring with the right shape," Liz explained.
"So right now when I contour I use a bronzer, I’m using this one from Hour Glass Cosmetics.
"It is called Lustrous Bronze Light and it’s just the perfect color for my skin tone, not too warm and it adds a bit of structure but not too much."
She added that having a lighter contour and placing it higher up on the face makes you look "more youthful in general."
Finally, Liz revealed that she switched out her classic black mascara for a lighter brown shade.
"I started using light reddish brown eyeliner like what I’m using right now," she said.
"This just makes everything less harsh and more soft, you still get that definition but it’s not as hard a line as the black eyeliner.
"The warm orangey tone of the eyeliner actually makes the skin around your eyes a little bit brighter."
Her followers shared their thoughts on the tips in the comments section.
"You look great, babe!!! Better style, you look so much younger," wrote one viewer.
"I love this new look of yours!" said another impressed TikTok user.
"I noticed that too. You look more youthful," commented a third person.
