Andre Braugher was an American actor born on July 1, 1962, in Chicago Illinois.
Following a successful high school career, Andre was offered a scholarship to Stanford University where he studied theatre.
He later attended the drama division at New York's prestige performing arts school, The Juilliard School, graduating in 1988.
Andre booked his first role the following year in the 1989 film Glory.
The Chicago actor went on to land his break-out role as Detective Frank Pembleton on the 1993 TV police drama Homicide: Life on the Street.
Andre since appeared on an array of hit shows and films including Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and Law & Order: SVU.
