Woman trolled for wearing a bridal gown to her daughter’s wedding – and people can’t tell them apart
WITH wedding season just around the corner, many of us will be trying to find the perfect dress to wear and do our best not to upstage the bride.
One woman decided the rules didn’t apply to her though and wore a white gown to her own daughter’s wedding.
The proud mother-of-the-bride has broken the internet with her wedding outfit after it was shared on Reddit late last year.
It’s hard to tell which woman is the blushing bride, as both gowns are off-white and have intricate detailing on the bodices.
Only the most eagled-eyed person would notice the cathedral-style veil worn by the bride, which perfectly silhouetted her lace bodycon dress.
Posing on the right next to her husband, the newlywed looked beautiful with her dress which featured romantic details such as a sweetheart neckline and delicate lace.
Meanwhile, her proud mum stands on the left in an equally bridal outfit and was clearly inspired by her daughter.
Not only did her gown have a similar neckline and silhouette, she even had lace embellishments that trailed down the centre.
As she was unable to wear a veil on the big day, she instead opted for a cut-away cape that emphasised her hourglass frame which was heavily bejewelled.
For those who struggled to know who was who, you aren’t alone , as Redditors were also confused and the original poster even had to point out who was the bride.
After uploading the image to the forum website, they wrote: “ MOTB in white! It literally looks like a double wedding to me... I just saw this on fb. MOTB is on the left... WHY?!”
Even with this caption, some users were still confused by the two women in white.
One Redditor even wrote: “I’m certainly no expert, as I got married without any wedding. But to me the dresses are so similar, and with the faces blurred I could not tell which was the bride.”
“Lol, I tried to guess and I honestly couldn't tell,” wrote another user, also they did add that the cape gave ‘older vibes’.
Some even assumed that the older woman had been the groom’s mum because of her pose in the awkward photo.
“Look at the hands. It's a 100% tell (+ the cape leans a bit older as well),” a third explained: “Not to mention the claw grip she has on her son. Somebody is not happy being replaced as 'the woman' in his life. Scary.”
Others were confused by the mother-of-the-bride’s hair, with some questioning whether she wore hat.
If you look closely, it looks like a facinator with feathery strands that made her nearly a foot taller than the bride.
“I've been sitting here trying to figure out if it's her headpiece or a tree?” said a fourth, with a fifth arguing that it reminded them of Vegas showgirls.

“Zoom in, if it's a tree a very odd tree. It also appears like a headpiece a Las Vegas showgirl would wear, but a much smaller scale,” they joked.
We just hope that the bride wasn’t as bothered by the headgear and dress as Redditors were.
