Snooker Players Championship SUSPENDED for medical emergency after fan falls ill in crowd
PLAY at the Players Championship in Telford was suspended for over 20 minutes,
A member of the crowd fell ill during the match between Zhang Anda and John Higgins leading to the pause in play.
Both players left the table as medical staff attended to the member of the public who required attention.
Following the prompt suspension the crowd were also evacuated from the arena.
One fan claimed online that it took around ten minutes for those in their seats to be taken out of the arena.
After a break of around 20 minuted play was resumed and fans were brought back in to watch the match.

The World Snooker Tour took to social media to show support for the member of the public who required treatment.
On X (formerly Twitter) the official account wrote: "Play has resumed here in Telford. We send our best wishes to the spectator taken ill."
ITV - who were broadcasting the tournament - later confirmed that the fan in question had left the arena after receiving medical attention.
It's the second time in the space of a week that a fan has been taken ill during a snooker tournament.
Martin O'Donnell and Gary Wilson both had to leave the table during the Welsh Open on Sunday when a similar incident occurred.
