AT least four people have died in a horror blaze in a care home in Germany.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Bedburg-Hau on Monday night as elderly residents were rescued through the windows.

The fire broke out at the House Simon care home on Monday morning around 5am local time.

At least four people have died in the fire while another 15 were left injured.

A spokesperson for the fire department described the situation as dramatic and said they were forced to break the windows to rescue some of the residents.
