ERIK TEN HAG was called out by Jamie Carragher for his "embarrassing" decision to play Casemiro at centre-back.
The Brazilian midfielder started in United's backline that went into the break 2-0 down at Crystal Palace.
And the former Real Madrid star was slammed for his defending for Palace's opener, scored by Michael Olise.
Carragher said: “Listen, he's playing out of position tonight, but this has got nothing to do with playing out of position.
"That could be in a holding midfield role. That is is embarrassing. They need to bring him come off. He needs to come off the pitch.
"Honestly, nothing can be worse than Casemiro playing centre-back in this second.”

Carragher called for right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to fill in at centre-half with Casemiro benched.
But the Champions League winner remained on the pitch.
And things went from bad to worse in the second half as Tyrick Mitchell made it 3-0.
Casemiro was then at fault for the fourth goal as he failed to make a simple clearance which allowed Olise to strike outside the box.
And his effort sailed past Andre Onana, who came under fire for failing to keep the shot out.
