DEAR DEIDRE: MOST women want a tall, dark, handsome man to share their life with, but I am so short it rules me out.
I’m a divorced 42-year-old man and I’m 5ft 4in tall.
I know the phrase “size doesn’t matter”, but my experience on dating sites proves that simply isn’t true.
My wife left me last year, telling me she no longer loved me and wanted a divorce.
We had been married for ten years. It was such a shock but I have since learned that she was having an affair. I am struggling to get over her and I still love her.
I gave her everything and now I am lost. I’ve tried dating, but my heart isn’t in it. I have a good job, a house which I bought my ex-wife out of, and I drive a decent car.

I am funny and thoughtful and, while I admit I’m not Daniel Craig, I don’t look too bad.
I’m starting to get really frustrated and depressed. There’s nothing I can do about my height.
I just wish someone would give me a chance. Maybe I am too short to ever find love again, and destined to be alone.

DEIDRE SAYS: Not being tall shouldn’t stop you finding love. You’ve already proved that by being married.
Not all women want a tall guy and many don’t care, even though convention is that the male partner is normally taller.
Many small men have successful relationships and are considered sexy, so please don’t give up on finding love.
Perhaps you’re coming across too keen, or a bit desperate, and this is putting women off.
For now, come off dating sites and be open to meeting women through activities that interest you.
My support packs Raising Self-Esteem and Finding The Love Of Your Life will help you to build confidence in yourself and your relationship search.
