Kelly Clarkson’s a ‘sexy, hot mom’ but Mr. Right will ‘need an emotional pickaxe’ to connect with her vulnerable self
MANY celebrity singletons might pin their hopes on winning their next date at red-carpet events, showbiz parties, or during TV appearances.
Kelly Clarkson may be among them, but though a body language expert says her "sexy looks" show she wants a new relationship, her "inner persona" is not there yet.
Kelly, 41, shared a clip on Instagram on Friday in which she congratulated a selection of Grammy winners.
A Grammy nominee herself, she also thanked everyone she celebrated with at the February 4 music event in Los Angeles music event.
Dressed in a white T-shirt and jeans, Kelly talked about her seven-year-old son Remmington being her date.
Kelly's Instagram fans thought her looks said everything.
“Sexy is the word," wrote one.
“I’m still not over how AMAZING you look,” said another.
But body language expert Judi James said the TV star's gestures looked "problematic."
“Kelly’s nonstop talking and gestures show her inner persona has not yet caught up with her new sexy looks," James told The U.S. Sun.
"Underneath, Kelly is not the glamorous, hot-mom celebrity the world sees her as.
“Kelly’s mouth constantly opens in surprise, and she consistently clasps her hands in acts of low self-esteem.
“Kelly’s afterburn response to her ultra-glam red-carpet appearance suggests two small kids were posing.
“She makes a breathless delivery and looks like as much a small child as her son.
“Kelly might look like a sexy, hot mom who wants to find a new man right now.
“But her body language suggests a woman trying to play catch-up with her current life of glamour and success.
“This will cause problems for Kelly when starting any new romance.”
James noticed the Since U Been Gone singer was on edge during her red-carpet moment.
“Taking her son to the Grammys allowed Kelly to perform acts of mom-based distraction.

“This helped Kelly avoid going through any full-on celebrity glamour assault course.
“Other celebs might use their kids as red-carpet accessories, but for Kelly, it helped take the singleton edge off.
"This could mean she has not realized she is not ready for love.
“Kelly looks amazing with her long-tousled hair, white goddess dress, and diamonds.
“She posed like a mom at the school gates, bending and holding her purse up in a body barrier gesture.
“She and Remington have the tightest of hand clasps.
“The clinging looks mutual, as though she is as grateful for his support and presence as he is for hers.”
The American Idol winner was nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for Chemistry at the star-studded Crypto.com Arena event.
She wrote the album after splitting from her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.
“At the Grammys, Kelly might have looked as glam as any Kardashian,” said James.
“But the way she holds her clutch purse up in a barrier gesture shows nerves.
“Kelly’s normal, unaffected, non-celebrity walking style also reeks down-to-earth and authentic.
“It is her very natural-looking, self-effacing signals that help her audience identify with her on-screen.
“It is these that should also help find her an ideal partner.
“Mr. Right might need to come with an emotional pick-axe to connect with Kelly.
"This would allow access to her authentic, down-to-earth, still-smarting, still-vulnerable inner self.”
Kelly’s divorce from talent manager Brandon Blackstock was finalized in March 2022.
Despite seeming inseparable, Kelly left Brandon in 2020 after seven years of marriage.
The pair share children River Rose, 9, and Remington Alexander, 7.
Before now, the singer was forced to pay her ex just over $1.3 million along with $45,601 per month in child support, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.
James noticed Kelly seemed uncomfortable in another Instagram video that Access Hollywood shared.
“Kelly’s eyebrows often raise in a high arch and never come down, while her eye expression is often excited," she said.
“Kelly babbles on to warp speed like a drama school kid giving a recital.

“She clasped her hands behind her back and rocked from side to side in the same vein.
“Her fingers are spiked, showing fluctuating bursts of adrenalin.
"Or her hands are clasped in a pleading position as though Kelly’s cute inner child is revealing a desire to be liked."
Season 5 of Kelly’s show started in October after she moved from Los Angeles to New York City.
The NBC Daytime TV offering has seen her interview several stars such as the Stallones and Rod Stewart.
“Interestingly, when she is on set she shows gestures of vulnerability," said James.
“Part of Kelly’s charm as an interviewer/host is how she lowers her status and ego signals.
“Kelly sometimes sits partially scrunched with her sleeves over her hands.
“Despite her new shape, she uses plenty of barrier gestures again to cover her body."

On her new health kick in January, Kelly told People why she embarked on a new routine.
“I was very unhappy in L.A. and had been for several years. I needed a fresh start,” she said.
"I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor."
“I eat a healthy mix…and 90 percent of the time I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway," Kelly said.
James said Kelly's gestures continued to show she has to "make an effort."
"Kelly lost a husband and a manager and then moved home," she added.
"She has lost a lot of weight since the divorce.
"People splitting up from a relationship with a long history often feel their past and memories have been erased overnight.
"While Kelly has a contagious smile, it can sometimes appear like it takes some effort.
"It is as though she is smiling to help others enjoy themselves rather than being prompted by internal purring in herself.
"Her upper lip tends to be lifted to hint at that effort, rather than spreading out in a more naturally happy smile.
