James Martin forced to halt his ITV show and reassure viewers after ‘shotgun-like’ sound rings out
TV chef James Martin was forced to halt his Saturday Morning show mid-programme after hearing a "shotgun-like" sound ring out around the studio.
The TV presenter was mid-interview when he stopped in order to send a reassuring message to viewers amid the puzzling sound.
His Saturday Morning programme is filmed at his home and the star was seen speaking to guests Claude Bosi and Jonny Lake about a Tarte Tatin recipe.
In the segment, James could be heard reading out questions from the viewers to his guests.
He said: "They are good questions so far. We have got another one. Barbara Rogers, we loved your recipe for Tarte Tatin, it has won awards with the family apparently."
The conversation around the Tarte Tatin continued before James added: "But it's not just that you can use vegetables as well. You can use shallots, bits, and pieces like that."

However, before going any further, he made an abrupt stop to address the sound disruption around the room.
Fearing fans would be concerned that the noises were "shotgun" like, James quickly clarified that was not the case.
He said: "That is not a shotgun going by the way, we have got a crow scarer.
"The farmer has just planted some plants out there, we are going to get a lot of this during the day really.
"It's to stop the pigeons going and wrecking his plants as well."
James recently made a return to TV screens after enjoying a break over the summer.
He recently enjoyed a much-needed getaway with his beloved girlfriend Kim Johnson.
The pair headed to an adorable B&B in France as they took their budding seven-month romance to the next level.
James and Kim were all smiles in a photo snapped at their holiday lodgings, the Le Jardin de Rose, as James placed a loving arm around his new love's shoulders.
