Inside minuscule bubble car with open top roof that opens like a Rolls Royce and looks just like a Porsche from behind
A TINY bubble car called the Microlino has a roof that opens like a Rolls-Royce and a rear end that’s likened to a gorgeous Porsche model.
The minuscule motor, which can comfortably fit just one person inside, has a top speed of 56 mph and there's even a version that can be driven by 16-year-olds - thanks to a little-known licensing rule.
You might already recognise the Microlino, as it is based on the iconic BMW Isetta - another tiny car that once saved BMW from bankruptcy in the 1950s.
Built by the Swiss firm Micro, the mini EV has already hit the British market, with the entry-level model starting from £17,990.
Then there's the Microlino Lite, which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show last year and aims to make city driving more accessible by taking advantage of an unexpected legal loophole.
As with other small-sized motors, the Microlino Lite was produced to take on the surprisingly popular Citroen Ami.

Like the Ami, the Lite conforms to light quadricycle regulations.
This means that in the UK, cars under 425kg (excluding the EV battery weight) with top speeds lower than 30 mph fit into the AM licence category, the same one used for mopeds, meaning they can be driven by 16-year-olds.
The regular Microlino has already been highly praised for its fun factor.
It features a 17-bhp electric motor, with battery pack options ranging from 5.5 kWh to 15.0 kWh, offering a range of up to 142 miles.
Car experts at Supercar Blondie recently praised the little motor in a video, pointing to the rear end that resembles a Porsche.
They said: “At the back, it looks like a Porsche 911 992 with the tail brake.”
They also mentioned Rolls-Royce, saying: “Opening the door is as classy as in a Rolls-Royce; just press the button and it goes up.
“Closing the door is a procedure in itself… pull on that latch and you’ll find yourself in this sporty cockpit."
This comes as, earlier this month, we reported on another micro EV that is coming to a showroom near you with a £15,000 price tag.
