‘I’ve not spoken to Jess since we split’ says Love Island’s Sammy Root as he opens up on dating rumours
LOVE Island winner Sammy Root has admitted he’s no longer on speaking terms with Jess Harding.
The pair, both 23, won the show over the summer, but just two months later Jess announced their split, leaving Sammy blindsided.
Sammy had hoped the pair would be able to work things out, but admitted: “I haven’t spoken to Jess since we split”.
And it seems he’s ready to move on as he told OK! Magazine: "It's been a whirlwind of a few months. I've maybe been having too much fun.
“I wouldn't say I'm back in the dating game, but I never let myself get bogged down by things [break-up].
"I'd be so silly to not take this opportunity of a lifetime seriously, so I am just focusing on me right now. That's my priority."

Jess told him it was over by phone - choosing not to wait for a face to face conversation before making the news public earlier this month.
Sammy was left stunned when news of their split leaked online while Jess was partying in Ibiza with pals.
Previously speaking about his breakup from Jess, Sammy said: "To be totally clear - I at least wanted a face to face conversation to see if our relationship could be saved and felt this would be a respectful way forward.
"We had the most incredible experience winning Love Island and I genuinely saw a future with Jess. I was committed and respectful to our relationship. Unfortunately things don't always work out the way you'd hoped."
Jess later hit back saying: "I really don't want to go into detail by doing a big statement but we're just very different and behave differently and that's it."
