Woman transforms her bathroom using a Sharpie & people are blown away by the after shots – and no, it’s not on her grout
JUST one Sharpie and some frog tape - that's all one DIY fanatic used to transform her bathroom.
When it comes to revamping any room in your home, it's easy to assume you need to fork a fortune - but according to one woman, Tessie, all you need is a Sharpie and a bit of tape.
According to the mum, whose DIY makeover has gone viral on Instagram, she wanted to transform the family's sage green bathroom walls to fit the ''grandma'' and ''maximalist'' vibe she's got going on.
But rather than spending thousands on a new wallpaper or some wall art, Tessie, believed to be from the USA, decided to take a different approach.
As the textured walls meant that easier projects, such as stencils and stamps, had been ruled out, the crafty homeowner came up with the idea of using a special Sharpie to give the walls a glow-up.
After she had vertically applied frog tape, Tessie then used an oil-based paint pen and began the long process of making small black horizontal lines from top to bottom.

Sharing the stunning makeover on the social media platform, the DIY whizz explained that whilst an oil-based paint may take more effort to cover, for high traffic areas, such as the entryway and potentially moist areas like bathrooms, it tends to be a better option due to durability and longevity.
Although there are paint markers that you can fill in yourself using whatever paint you have, Tessie said she'd simply purchased a three-pack of black paint markers for a little over £7, as she's on ''a lady with a budget''.
Once done, the savvy mum, who posts under the username @tessieheeter, said ''it can be sprayed with cleaner and wiped with a towel''.
Despite some trolls coming for her and insisting there were ''better'' ways she could've renovated the sage green walls, Tessie seemed to be all chuffed and reminded that she was working with what the family had.
''I didn’t make this wall wondering how quickly I could get it done, but how I could make it look the way I pictured in my head.''
Since being posted on the platform, the clip has taken the internet by storm, winning the crafty mum-of-three close to a whopping 30million views.
Thousands have flocked to comments to tag their pals, as well as share their thoughts on the transformation.
''This is kinda heat,'' reckoned one fan of the results.
Someone else agreed, hitting back at the meanies: ''This is awesome. I don't understand the criticism.
''Worst case scenario, some alcohol and baby wipes would probably take it off. That's how I got my son's sharpie art off the walls.
''But it looks great!''
A third chimed in: ''I say to hell with anyone that doesn’t enjoy your kind of crazy. I think this is cool.''
''Colour + creativity + texture, I fail to see the issue. At least everything isn't plain white with a splash of beige,'' a fourth penned.
