Derailed train forces Hong Kong’s MTR Corp to pause light rail travel in western New Territories

Hong Kong’s rail operator suspended some services in the western New Territories on Saturday morning after a train was derailed in Tuen Mun.

The MTR Corporation said light rail routes 610, 614, 615 and 751 would be unavailable between Lam Tei and Hung Shui Kiu stations as a result of the incident.

Police said they received a report of a train derailment at 9.43am at Chung Uk Tsuen station, located near Hung Shui Kiu. There were no passengers on the train at the time and no injuries were reported, they added.
