DAVE Grohl has revealed that he has welcomed a child after an affair.
"I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage," the singer wrote in a statement on Instagram.
"I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness," he continued.
"We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together."
The 55-year-old shares three daughters with his wife, Jordyn Blum, with their first child, Violet Maye, being welcomed in 2006.
Three years later, Jordyn gave birth to their second child, Harper Willow, named after Dave's great uncle Harper Bonebrake.
The couple's youngest daughter, Ophelia Saint, was born in 2014 shortly after Grohl was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as Nirvana's drummer.
He famously announced they were expecting at the induction ceremony, posing with his hand on Jordyn's bump at the event.
"I used to tour nine months out of the year. Now I don't like being away from my kids for more than 12 days," the hitmaker told Time in 2009 of how important family is to him.
"It's changed everything that I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate," he added.
"It's inevitable that that would make its way into your songwriting."
As of this moment, the rocker has not revealed the identity of the newborn's mother, nor has his wife Jordyn responded.
Unlike her husband, Jordyn has mainly stayed out of the spotlight, as she has worked as a model and then as a producer at MTV.
The couple met at a bar in 2001, where things did not get off on the right foot according to the rockstar.
"When I first met my wife, we went out on a few dates and I decided that I wasn't ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling," he shared to Elle.
Before walking down the aisle with Jordyn, the performer was married to Jennifer Leigh Youngblood from 1994 to 1997.
However, the pair did not welcome any children during their relationship.
