  • United keen to tie McTominay down with new contract

Manchester United are keen to tie Scott McTominay down to a new contract.

The 27-year-old Scot’s deal with the club expires next summer, and he has been linked with moves to Bayern Munich and West Ham in recent months.

But despite coming close to being sold last summer, the midfielder has "won over" Erik Ten Hag.

And the club are now keen to speak to McTominay about activating a clause to extend his contract by a further year.

  • Tuchel facing pressure at Bayern

Ex-Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is coming under pressure at Bayern according to Bild.

The Bavarian side trail Leverkusen by seven points in the title race.

Uli Hoeness is understood to be unsure on Tuchel's quality but does not want the club to sack yet another manager.

That's the main reason he is safe for now.

There are also suggestions that some club officials are growing frustrated with the club's Premier League-focused approach.

The club signed Eric Dier from Tottenham and are pushing hard for Kieran Trippier.

  • West Ham have bid for wonderkid rejected

West Ham have had an initial bid for wonderkid Ibrahim Osman rejected.

The Irons have been in talks with Danish side Nordsjaelland over a possible move for the Ghanaian, 19.

But a first offer of £16million has been snubbed - leaving the Hammers to mull over whether to return with an improved proposal.

Osman has scored four goals and grabbed five assists in 29 appearances for Nordsjaelland this season.

He is the product of the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana, which also produced current West Ham star Mohammed Kudus.

  • Chelsea interested in Benzema

Chelsea have registered their interest in signing Karim Benzema from Al-Ittihad, according to reports.

The forward is unhappy in Saudi Arabia and returned from his winter break holiday 17 days late for training.

  • Hodgson 'on thin ice'

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has been warned that he could be sacked if results do not pick up soon.

The veteran manager met with Steve Parrish after the side's 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Arsenal on Saturday.

  • Newcastle could hijack Tottenham

Newcastle are considering hijacking Tottenham's move to sign Club Brugge star Antonio Nusa, according to Football Insider.

The 18-year old is one of the highest rated young wingers in Europe.

  • Mbappe focused on the Olympics

The Paris Olympic games are reportedly a huge focus for Kylian Mbappe next year.

  • Loan ranger

Nottingham Forest are set to sign USA international Gio Reyna on loan from Borussia Dortmund.

Reyna's current contract expires in June 2025 and he is keen to play regular football.

ince missing the opening month of the season through injury, the 21-year-old has started just two games for Dortmund, with 11 appearances off the bench.

However, Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo believes he can revive Reyna's career at the City Ground.

He shares the same super agent as Reyna, Jorge Mendes, after the midfielder joined forces with the Portuguese star maker in December.

Reyna, son of former Rangers, Sunderland and Manchester City star Claudio Reyna, is seen as a major asset for Forest as he can play as a winger or operate as an attacking No.10.

Leyton Orient delighted fans with their latest signing.

That’s after announcing him with a video inspired by hit TV show The Traitors.

The BBC programme is hosted by Claudia Winkleman.

And it has become a smash hit with viewers across the country.

But Leyton Orient also decided to get involved in the fun when they made a transfer signing on Tuesday.

The O’s snapped up Ollie O’Neill, 21, from Fulham to help their League One campaign.

And they used clips from The Traitors to tease the signing before O’Neill revealed himself as their new man at the end.

O’Neill has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Orient, who sit ninth in the table, for an undisclosed fee.

  • Ron deal

Gary Lineker was part of one of football’s most surprising transfers.

That’s after Cristiano Ronaldo re-signed for Manchester United in his back garden.

Lineker said: "Ed is a very good friend, he's a lovely guy, genuinely a lovely guy.

“Cristiano Ronaldo was signed when Ed Woodward was in my back garden. That was amazing.

“[Did I realise the significance of the deal?] Only when he arrived.

“He came over and we had a lunch planned. I was cooking for a few people, Ed being one of them.

"He was on the phone when he arrived, and he was going 'I'm trying to secure the Cristiano Ronaldo deal'.

"At that point it was looking like he was going to Manchester City. And then he [Ed] got the confirmation call.

“I’ve got a picture of him sat in a chair at the back of the garden, doing the deal."

  • Max cash

Man Utd have been told that it will take a "huge bid" in order to sign Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

The Red Devils have been linked with a move to sign the Cameroon striker to provide competition to Rasmus Hojlund.

Sky Germany have claimed that Bayern want him to stay due to there already being a thin squad.

However, the report has added that should a big offer come in for the veteran, then they could be tempted to sell.

It is also suggested that Choupo-Moting is expected to leave the club in the summer for nothing.

  • Striking reveal

Victor Osimhen has hinted at a summer transfer and he has his eyes on the Premier League.

He told CBS Sport: “I have already made my decision on the next step to do at the end of the season.

“I already made up my mind. I already have my plan, I know what I want to do, the next step I want to take.

“I think 60 per cent of the people mention the rumours about me linked with the Premier League.

“Premier League is one of the biggest leagues in the world.

“I want to finish the season with Napoli strong and then come up with the decision I've already made.”

  • Hatter boy

Premier League star Kyle Bartley is wanted by Luton, according to reports.

The Hatters sit 18th in the Premier League and are looking to bolster their squad ahead of a fight to avoid relegation.

Luton are desperate to sign a centre-back as they are without captain Tom Lockyer after he suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch against Bournemouth on December 16.

West Brom star Bartley, 32, is a transfer target for Rob Edwards' side, claim The Telegraph.

The experienced defender has just six months left on his contract at the Hawthorns and could be available for a bargain price.

He has played 25 times this season and West Brom will not want to lose him as they are fifth in the Championship.

  • Zee you soon

Manchester United lead the race to sign Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee despite interest from rivals Arsenal.

The Red Devils are the only club to have held transfer talks with the former Bayern Munich star.

Zirkzee, 22, rose through the youth system at Bayern Munich but struggled to make the breakthrough at senior level before joining Bologna in 2022.

After a slow debut year in Italy, the forward has impressed this term after scoring seven goals and creating two assists in 19 Serie A appearances this year.

Erik ten Hag is desperate to bolster his frontline and is eyeing up to sign the ex-Netherlands U21 star in the summer.

Reports have claimed that Zirkzee’s contract with Bologna includes a £34m release clause.

  • Kal him on

Kalvin Phillips is close to joining West Ham on loan until the end of the season.

The Hammers have agreed terms with champions Manchester City over a loan deal until June.

Further talks will take place over whether an option to buy will be included or not.

West Ham have agreed to cover all his £140,000-a-week wages as well as paying City a loan fee.

Phillips has been in Abu Dhabi with Pep Guardiola's squad during their winter break and is now travelling back before undergoing a medical later this week.

  • Tripp up

Bayern Munich are hopeful of completing a deal to sign Newcastle star Kieran Trippier, according to reports.

The German champions have looked to sign English talent in recent months, bringing in Harry Kane and Eric Dier from Tottenham.

Trippier could follow his former Spurs team-mates to the Allianz Arena this month.

Bayern Munich are eager to conduct a transfer quickly and a final decision on whether or not to make an offer will be made today, report Bild.

Boss Thomas Tuchel is understood to be a huge admirer of Trippier, who has been described as the German's "dream player".

Trippier, 33, and Newcastle could both be open to the move, with the right-back in the final 18 months of his contract.

However Toon would be keen to agree a permanent switch rather than a loan, with Trippier valued between £8.5-£13million.

Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Paris Saint-Germain loanee Xavi Simons play for RB Leipzig, according to reports.

The Dutch winger, 20, joined the German club at the beginning of the season and has impressed with seven goals and nine assists in 27 games.

Arsenal were first linked with a move for Simons last season when he enjoyed a stellar campaign with PSV.

He managed 34 goal contributions in 48 matches for the Dutch giants.

But the Gunners missed out on his signature in the summer as PSG triggered a secret transfer clause which enabled them to re-sign the player they let go in 2022 for just £5.1million.

Yet despite failing in their pursuit of him less than 12 months ago, Arsenal are ready to re-ignite their interest in the attacker.

According to HITC, they recently sent scouts to watch a number of players in the Bundesliga – one of which was Simons.

  • Winter Wonderland

Bacary Sagna believes Arsenal will profit massively from their break over the winter period.

Sagna told Paddy Power: “Arsenal needed the break, mentally.

“Especially after the long season last season, and at the end of it they went to their respective national teams – they can never switch off.

“Sometimes they need to come back fresh, which is important, and to bring that positive vibe into their training sessions.

“It is vital for players to have that time to recharge.”

  • Lou betcha

Louis Saha has tipped Victor Osimhen to join Chelsea instead of his old club Man Utd.

Saha told Paddy Power: "Victor Osimhen is a striker who is full of confidence at the moment, and I can see him going to Chelsea.

"He’s won individual and team trophies, and he’s a top striker. I’m sure he’s the type of player who is willing to do anything to join the Premier League.

"I heard that he was a fan of Manchester United – so I hope he goes to the Theatre of Dreams!

“He is demanded by many clubs, and if clubs have the capacity to bring him to the Premier League, they should do it.

"He will guarantee you goals, confidence and experience, he won the Scudetto with Napoli which is not easy.

"I want to see him in the Premier League soon – I don’t think in this transfer window, but hopefully soon.”

  • Ted talk

Teddy Sheringham has blasted United for not signing Harry Kane and Declan Rice.

Sheringham told Gambling Zone: "Top players elevate you. They elevate the players around them and raise standards. Fergie would always bring in that type of player if he felt it would improve his team.

"These are the type of players that perform to a high standard every single week. These are the type of players that can drag a team over-the-line in a tight game.

"Declan Rice would have done that in midfield and Harry Kane would have done that upfront. Signings like that have a transformational effect on the entire football club."
