Despite his evil doings, his mum Audrey Roberts has struggled with the loss, and couldn't handle dealing with her son's possessions when they were finally returned by the police in Monday's episode.

But some Coronation Street fans were distracted by how little possessions Stephen seemed to have - and that a crucial item was missing.

Taking to X - formerly Twitter - one wrote: "That can't be all of Stephen's belongings. Where's his hole punch?"

Another also referred to Stephen's weapon of choice when killing Teddy Thompkins and tweeted: "Very disappointed that a hole punch wasn't in between Stephen's belongings."

Others commented on the meagre amount of stuff the formerly well-off character had, writing: "Stephen has much stuff left, where’s it all gone…"

A fellow viewer tweeted: "Is that Stephen’s stuff, he didn’t have much did he."

Other Corrie fans joked about the length of time it took the police to give the belongings back.

One wrote: "They've only just got dear Stephens belongings."

Stephen has been dead for 2 months, what has taken so long? Did Craig get lost on his way home from the Police station?"

Another jibed: "Stephen has been dead for 2 months, what has taken so long? Did Craig get lost on his way home from the Police station?"
