“His time on Celebrity Big Brother showed a different side to Gary.
"He’s a normal guy who’s done well for himself and he wants to try and give something back.
“Gary has his Points Of View podcast where he talks about business but he thinks being on Dragon’s Den could be a bigger platform for him.”
Dragon’s Den, which aired on the BBC in 2005, features businessmen and women including Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Sara Davies, Touker Suleyman and Steven Bartlett.
Recently guest Dragons included Emma Grede, the CEO of denim company Good American and ex professional footballer Gary Neville.
Gary made £30million after launching an IT company but hit the headlines for a series of scandals.
Gary first became embroiled in scandal in 2009 when caught cutting lines of cocaine for a sex worker at a wild party in Ibiza.
He also avoided prison and dodged jail again eight years later when found guilty of hitting his fourth wife Julie-Ann in a drunken row.
After leaving the Celebrity Big Brother house, Gary has only been spotted in public once.
The Sun revealed how his sister, Kate’s mum Carole Middleton, had not given Gary her blessing to go onto the show over fears it could embarrass Prince William and Kate, who is recovering from abdominal surgery.
A source said: Gary said he’s been read the riot act by Kate’s mum Carole and her dad Michael.
“They aren’t happy he’s going into Celebrity Big Brother.
