Thailand modifies entry regulations for tourists
Effective May 1, 2025, Thailand will implement new entry regulations for foreign tourists.
According to the Immigration Bureau of Thailand, all travelers, irrespective of their mode of transportation, will be required to complete the online TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) form within 72 hours prior to their arrival in the country. This form will supersede the traditional paper-based TM6 immigration card. The TDAC can be completed on the website https://tdac.immigration.go.th/arrival-card/#/home, which supports multiple languages, including Russian.
Exemptions will only apply to transit passengers who do not undergo passport control. Furthermore, the Thai authorities are considering the possibility of reducing the visa-exempt stay period from 60 to 30 days for citizens of 93 countries; however, a final decision on this matter has yet to be made.
These modifications are part of a comprehensive program to modernize immigration procedures, with similar systems already implemented in other nations such as Malaysia and South Korea.
