‘This has to be a prank,’ woman rages after dealer calls asking for used car back – but she got revenge & a better deal
DAYS after bringing home a new car, a TikToker said the dealership asked the motorist to return the vehicle.
In a viral TikTok series, a driver explained how a dealership asked her to bring back her Kia Telluride.
"I literally thought we had to be on Impractical Jokers," the TikToker, Brooke (@brookebohannan_), said in a post.
The video, which has garnered over a million views and 20,000 comments, confused drivers.
"We got a new car a week ago, and the dealership called us that they want the car back," Brooke explained.
The TikToker claimed she purchased a 2023 Kia Telluride full-size SUV.
The three-row SUV is one of the most popular cars on the American market - dozens of drivers claimed dealers imposed extra fees on the SUV to secure the popular model.
Brooke said she snagged the perfect Telluride model - the light grey exterior perfectly coordinated with the car's tan and black interior.
But the perfect car entered Brooke into a snafu. The dealership said the previous owner wanted the car back, she claimed.
"I'm sorry, but I've never heard of that before," she said.
She wrote in the video's caption that the call "had to be a joke, right?"
After the initial video went viral, Brooke said she was visited by the previous owner.
"The previous owner of our vehicle found us at our house," Brooke said in the third installation in the TikTok series.
"She is still technically paying for this car."
Brooke said the previous owner had purchased a new electric vehicle from the dealership and expected to use the money from the Telluride's trade-in.
However, Brooke said the woman didn't get her money back.
The dealership had sold Brooke the woman's car while the woman still owned it, she claimed.
CAR CARE
Brooke said her dealership troubles had a happy ending.
Another Kia dealership stepped in and offered the driver a 2024 model of the Telluride with the same color scheme and options.
The dealership also kept Brooke's original payment plan.
"This is our new car," she said, taping from inside the car in another post.
