Hong Kong thunderstorm warning for Sunday and Monday nights as 8 straight days of rain predicted

Heavy showers and thunderstorms are to hit Hong Kong tonight and tomorrow, the city’s weather forecaster has warned.

The Observatory issued a thunderstorm alert at 6.40pm on Sunday, which is expected to stay in force until 10.30pm.

“Under the influence of a trough of low pressure, there are thundery showers over Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea,” the service said.
