Transfer news LIVE: Henderson AGREES Ajax move, Premier League clubs want Phillips, Chelsea ‘willing to SELL striker’

  • Curtain Kal

Newcastle are said to be keeping tabs on Atalanta’s Ederson as boss Eddie Howe scours the market for midfield reinforcements.

A loan move for Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips is proving tricky so chief scout Steve Nickson watched the Brazilian in action for Atalanta on Monday night.

But the Serie A side have told Toon they have no intention of selling the 24-year-old this month.

And with money tight at St James’ Park due to FFP restrictions, the Magpies may look at resurrecting a deal in the summer if they can’t bring the Italians to the negotiating table in January.

Ederson played for Cruzeiro and Corinthians in Brazil before moving to Italy in 2022, scoring 7 goals in 64 games for Atalanta.

  • Guimaraes sparks PSG rumours

Bruno Guimaraes sparked intense PSG transfer speculation after taking a trip to Disneyland Paris.

This comes as the Brazilian midfielder is reportedly considering a Newcastle exit following the club's dismal winter form.

The club may also be forced to sell him to fall in line with FFP regulations.

He also visited the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower in minus two degrees as the Magpies are free from Premier League duty this weekend.

But his choice of destination may get Newcastle fans nervous, as Guimaraes is reportedly being targeted by Paris Saint-Germain.

  • PSG offer Mbappe mega-contract

PSG have reportedly offered Kylian Mbappe an eye-watering contract as they look to keep him at the club.

The Parisians are trying to keep hold of their star man amid interest from Real Madrid.

The French outlet have claimed that the Ligue 1 club will offer him a deal worth £86m-per-year.

  • Henderson agrees to rip up Ettifaq contract

The England star and former Liverpool captain will terminate his £700,000-a-week contract in Saudi Arabia.

And the Athletic claims Henderson will take a whopping 75 per cent pay cut to seal a move to Amsterdam – still pocketing him £175k a week.

  • Chelsea Broja update

The Daily Telegraph claim that Chelsea will only sell Armando Broja for £50million this window.

The striker is attracting Premier League interest from Wolves, Fulham and West Ham.

It was previously though that he would be available for £35million.

  • Phillips attracting La Liga giants

Both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are lining up a move for Kalvin Phillips, according to The Daily Mail.

The midfielder's future is set to be decided next week.

Tottenham could see more exits this window with both Bryan Gil and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg linked with moves away from the clb.

  • Thomas Frank on Reguilon signing

Thomas Frank reckons Sergio Reguilon’s loan switch to Brentford will be great news for both parties.

The Spaniard, 27, was initially hesitant about heading to West London, having hoped for a more high-profile switch having previously played for Real Madrid and Manchester United.

But he was eventually convinced to go to the Bees, where he should play regularly given left-back Rico Henry is out long-term.

Reguilon completed a loan switch to the Gtech until the end of the season - though there is no buy option in the deal.

Bees chief Frank said: “We need him, but I also think he needs us to show how good a footballer he is. I’m convinced that this will be a positive partnership”.

  • West Ham braced for second Benrahma bid

West Ham are expecting a second bid from Marseille for Said Benrahma.

The Hammers rejected a first offer - a loan with a view to making the move permanent in the summer - on Tuesday, hours before the winger was sent off against Bristol City.

Benrahma's three match ban for kicking out at Joe Williams means he will not play again during the January window - meaning any consideration over injury cover this month has now been disregarded.

The terms offered by the Ligue 1 side were not good enough for West Ham to sell, but the club are still open to letting the former Brentford winger leave.

West Ham are hoping to get more than £20million for Benrahma and need guaranteed funds in order to find a replacement this month.

But Toney has now admitted: “You can never predict when is the right time to move elsewhere, but I think it’s obvious I want to play for a top club.

“Everybody wants to play for a top club that is fighting for titles. Whether it’s this January that is the right time for a club to come in and pay the right money, who knows?

The 33-year-old only moved to Steven Gerrard's side in July, meaning his Middle Eastern adventure has lasted just six months.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea chased his signature during the summer.

It then emerged that Chelsea were leading the race to try and sign him during the January transfer window.

Facing the media at Afcon, Osimhen was asked about moving to the Prem, to which he replied: “Of course one day, definitely, but for now I have other plans in my career I am looking forward to.
