Woman issues warning against £3 Home Bargains beauty buy as her lips are left ‘ripped and bleeding’ after using it

A BEAUTY fan has issued a warning to others after her lips were left "ripped and bleeding" when she tried out a £3 Home Bargains buy.

Charlotte had picked up the charcoal face mask from her local store, and couldn't wait to test it out.

However, things didn't quite go to plan when it came to removing the mask, as she showed in a video on her TikTok page.

In the clip, Charlotte was seen gently pulling off the mask - which began successfully at first.

But when she got to the mask on her lips, her eyes were seen widening as she realised she'd made an epic error.

She then had to pull the mask off a bit at a time because of the pain.

And she eventually decided she was going to "wash the rest off", as there were only a few bits left that she couldn't pull off.

"Do not put charcoal face mask over lips - especially while they're chapped!" she wrote over the top.

Charlotte added in the caption: "My lips ripped and were bleeding don’t recommend guys."

But there were lots of people in the comments section who insisted Charlotte was the one in the wrong, as she had put the mask on her lips in error.

"Well why would you put it on your lips? Seriously!" one wrote.

"Seriously I don’t know," Charlotte sighed in response.

"You look in pain," another said.

"Why put it on your lips?" a third said.

"That was just stupid!"

"Why would you do that? You're not supposed to put it on your lips," someone else replied.

"I learnt that the hard way," Charlotte added.

"Why would you put a peel off mask over your lips?" another questioned.

Top 3 beauty products every woman should be using

Hayley Walker, Beauty Expert at Justmylook shared the holy-grail products every woman needs to be using.

A cleanser, SPF, and hair oil are must-haves within beauty routines.

A cleanser is crucial for healthy skin as it removes dirt, oil, and other impurities for flawless skin. This skincare step not only cleanses the face and removes dirt, but also prevents breakouts and premature skin ageing, helping you maintain a healthy, youthful, and blemish-free complexion.

The Aveeno Face Calm+ Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser is a go-to of mine due to its gentle formula that soothes and restores the skin’s appearance and texture.

SPF is non-negotiable and should be in everyone’s daily skincare routine.

Even on cooler, cloudier days, our skin is exposed to the sun’s UV rays which can be harmful to unprotected skin and even lead to damage. These damages include sunburn, pigmentation changes, and wrinkles which can impact the skin’s texture and appearance. In some cases, prolonged exposure to UV rays can cause skin cancer.

Applying SPF daily prevents these damages and protects the skin from harmful rays. I recommend the Beauty Of Joseon Rice & Prebiotic Sunscreen PA++++ SPF50+ for its lightweight, non-clumping texture that absorbs quickly for a natural finish and maximum protection.

Hair oil has many benefits and should be regularly used. This treatment can strengthen and protect the hair from external stressors while improving its appearance and shine. Regularly applying hair oil can also reduce breakage and even encourage hair growth for longer, fuller locks. Hair oils also target the scalp, reducing dandruff and improving its health through exfoliation.

I recommend using this deeply nourishing treatment a couple of times a week or more depending on the hair’s moisture levels. The Hair Syrup Rapunzel Pre-Wash Oil Treatment is a nutrient-rich treatment that revitalises strands to promote a happy scalp and healthy-looking locks. Apply the syrup throughout damp hair before washing; massage from root to tip and allow the formula to penetrate strands before rinsing and styling.

As someone else pointed out: "You shouldn’t anyway.

"Lips don’t need charcoal or any oil reducing products at all, it’s a different skin composition than our faces."

While another person admitted: "I once ripped off the entire layer of my bottom lip.

"Never known pain like it!"

"Omggg just use a sugar scrub to get it off!" someone else suggested.

"I'm dying!"

"On the package it always says 'do not put on mouth or near eyes' or something like that," another pointed out.

"But either way THERE ARE WARNINGS! I hope you are alright though."
