And now at 33-years-old, she looks even younger than she did in her 20s - so much so that people think it’s all botox.

But according to the skin-fluencer, skipping two steps in her face-washing routine has been instrumental to helping her age backwards.

Elle no longer cleanses her skin in the morning, nor does she exfoliate very often.

“I stopped cleansing my skin in the morning,” she explained on Instagram

“I was only cleansing every morning because I thought that was what I was ‘supposed’ to do.

“Even if you have clog prone skin, this is a game changer.”

There are differing opinions among skincare experts regarding whether washing your face in the morning is necessary for everyone.

Elle subscribes to the school of thought that believes you should let your skin’s natural oils, which it produces overnight, work their magic well into the day.

Additionally, the skincare whizz has since ditched exfoliating on a daily basis, something she did religiously in her 20s.

“I had this warped view that if I peeled and peeled away at my skin, it would be clear and glowy,” she said. “That’s not how it works.

Elle added that she also “started using retinol properly” to age her face backwards.

“Now,  I’ll apply a pea sized amount for the whole face one or two times a week in the evening," she penned.

“I’ll use the sandwich method if it’s a strong retinol and remember, when starting retinol, exfoliate less.

“Your skin is resurfacing at a faster rate so there isn’t a big need for exfoliating as there once was.”
