I won’t spend massive money on 2 anti-aging staples – my cheap tool shouldn’t be underestimated for puffiness either
AN aesthetics expert has revealed why she won't shell out the big bucks for self-care.
She shared the two anti-aging go-to's she save money on in her regimen and recommended a cheap buy to combat facial puffiness.
Fiona Ross launched The Aesthetics Club in 2018, a UK-based facility that provides treatments and beauty methods used by celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston.
Ross shared top skincare tips that work for different budgets.
BUDGET BEAUTY
“I’m big on not spending massive amounts of money on your cleanser and moisturizer. There are really nice, budget-friendly products that don’t break the bank," she said.
She would rather people spend money on "correcting products" or "treatment products."

They specifically target issues like acne, redness, and dry skin.
"If you use those products that specifically target those concerns you can sandwich them with the cheaper options," she explained.
When it comes to "at-home pampering," Ross prefers the "more affordable" route.
She gives herself a mandelic peel every two weeks at home.
According to London-based medspa Santi, a chemical peel that uses a solution containing mandelic acid to exfoliate the top layer of the skin.
It "helps to improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and treat hyperpigmentation, acne, and other skin conditions."
Ross also uses an "underestimated" tool about once or twice a week.
"I love using a gua sha - it should not be underestimated if your face is feeling a bit puffy," she said.
A favorite of Kendall Jenner, it is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool to relieve hypertension and improve circulation.
GOLDEN RULES
Ross also revealed what shoppers should, and shouldn’t splurge their hard-earned cash on when it comes to creams, serums, and cleansers.
Ultimately Fiona has "golden rules" for anyone looking to improve or protect their skin. and wake up "refreshed, rested and youthful."
“Double cleanse, apply SPF, keep eye care in the fridge, and put the remainder of products on the backs of your hands,” she said.
Fiona also stressed the importance of having a consistent morning and evening routine.
She starts the day with a cleanser that has an exfoliating cleanser.

“At night I would always recommend doing a double cleanse as some makeup and SPF can be really stubborn to get off," she said.
"Cleansing is very important because it is taking the day off for you. It will reduce congestion, blackheads, and breakouts.”
In terms of anti-aging, she advised avoiding sun, smoking, sugar, and stress as much as possible.
"Sun and smoking are the top two, but sugar and stress can also cause a lot of skin issues," she added.
"Meanwhile, for younger, oily skin I would take oil completely out of the skin routine."
She suggested using oil-free products and opting for cleansers that work against oil production.
Specifically, look for those with BHAs and AHAs in it because "that will help," according to Ross.
"If someone’s skin can’t create water it creates more oil, so sometimes getting the appropriate hydration is all they need,” she explained.
PRICIER PLAN
If you're willing to splurge, Ross recommended pricier treatments like a Lyma Laser, an Oxylight six-step facial, and Ameela, a salmon sperm facial.
The Aesthetics Club is one of only a few firms in Scotland to offer Ameela, also known as salmon sperm facials, an injectable gel made of polynucleotide derived from salmon DNA.
