The Zutons was first formed in 2001 in Liverpool with guitarist Dave McCabe, saxophonist Abi Harding, and drummer Sean Payne.

They are now back on the music scene after a long hiatus revealing that they recorded the new single during the pandemic.

Dave told NME: "We wrote ‘Creeping On The Dancefloor’ during lockdown when Abi moved in the house and we were all living together in our own little bubble.

"But I think because we were all trapped in the house and I was singing it onto my phone, just the melody and some of the words to keep the noise down, when we got let loose and recorded it with the band it had a great energy.

“It’s one of those songs you want to hear again as soon as it’s finished and that’s always a good sign.”

They initially gained widespread recognition with the release of their debut album, Who Killed...... The Zutons? in 2004, quickly climbing the UK charts.

The group briefly reunited back in 2016 and again in 2019 to commemorate and perform their debut album.

Now die-hard fans will be delighted to know that the trio will be returning to the stage.

They are gearing up for a UK tour in support of their forthcoming album, The Big Decider, from which the single was taken from.

They are scheduled to tour various cities, including Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham, Oxford, and Liverpool.

Posting a teaser of their new track to Instagram, one fan commented: "The big Z are BACK. Class tune & the Nile Rodgers influence works so well. So good to have you back guys."

Another added: "What a come back! Dave’s killing on the vocals, and harmonies and drums are so “Zutonic”, loved it!"
