When she first moved in to the property, her living room was stuck in the 90s, with garish floral wallpaper, outdated chandeliers and a dull brown sofa.

The mum of two was quoted thousands by builders to get the place done up professionally, so decided to give the place a revamp herself.

She bricked up the old fireplace, painted the walls and added a cosy cream rug and stylish sofa to brighten up the room.

But the DIY project that completely elevates the room is Sophie's glamourous looking feature ceiling.

To create the stunning ceiling, Sophie used San Marco Polo Luxury paint which is priced at £80.

She applied it on to fresh plaster, using a criss-cross motion with a B&Q wide paintbrush.

"What I'm doing is pushing the metallic filaments within this paint around to create a clouded effect", she said, demonstrating her technique in a video posted to TikTok.

Sophie's criss-cross technique gives the ceiling a cloud like effect, with the metallic colour of the paint making the ceiling sparkle.

"It is amazing", Sophie said.

The DIY pro revealed that the paint is fast drying and perfect for anyone who is messy.
