Turkmenistan has defined its foreign policy priorities for 2025

On December 27, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting dedicated to the results of the country's foreign policy activities in 2024 and the definition of priorities for the coming year.

The participants of the meeting - the leadership and employees of the ministry, heads of diplomatic missions and consular offices of our country abroad, discussed the implementation of the foreign policy of neutral Turkmenistan aimed at strengthening peace, security and cooperation in the region and the world. It was noted that the outgoing year was full of significant events, including the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi.

Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov emphasized the importance of continuing active work to implement the foreign policy strategy defined by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

"In accordance with the instructions of the country's top leadership, specific tasks have been defined for the national diplomatic service for 2025, which was declared the International Year of Peace and Trust by the UN General Assembly on the initiative of Turkmenistan," the Foreign Ministry said in a press release. Such a large-scale initiative opens up new opportunities for Turkmen diplomacy.

It is expected that Turkmenistan will continue to actively work on the implementation of this UN resolution, aimed at strengthening trust between states and peoples. To achieve this goal, it is planned to hold a number of international forums, conferences and cultural events dedicated to current issues of global security and cooperation. In addition, Turkmenistan will actively promote its initiatives within the UN, aimed at strengthening multilateral diplomacy and finding mutually acceptable solutions to global problems.
