Tesco is selling summer buy for £6 instead of £20 – and it’ll help you sleep in hot weather

TESCO is currently selling a summer buy for just £6, reduced from £20, and it will help you drift off to sleep during the hot weather.

The apparent bargain of getting two Silentnight “summer fresh” pillows for the knocked-down price, was spotted by a savvy shopper who posted the details onto a popular Facebook page.

They told the members of the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group: “Tesco with club card pillows [pack of 2]... from £20 down to £6 per pack.”

The eagle-eyed shopper also posted photos of the pillows along with their receipt.

Members of the group quickly spread the word, tagging in their friends.

One person wrote: “These will be my new pillows then.”

Another, mentioning their pal, said: “If you see these!! I need new pillows.”

While a third, who also tagged their friend, added: “If you see these in your Tesco buy for me please.”

The news comes after the supermarket giant is now set to ditch its toy aisle at 750 stores as part of a huge shake-up.

It's not all bad news for shoppers though, as the move is part of a huge new partnership with toy retailer The Entertainer.

Shoppers will see Tesco's current toy offering replaced with The Entertainer's range, including much-loved brands like Barbie, Nerf, LOL and Paw Patrol.

Each supermarket will continue to sell toys until the switch over takes place.

Tesco's Summer Co-ord: The Affordable Fashion Sensation

It comes after Tesco opened Paperchase concessions in hundreds of its stores nationwide.

Tesco is known for its popular meal deal, where shoppers can have their lunch sorted for just £3.40 with a Clubcard or £3.90 without.

You get a sandwich, drink and a snack all for the low price - where each item would more expensive individually.

Exactly how much you can save on the full price will depend on the products though - there are hundreds of food and drink combinations to choose from.

The Clubcard is your friend when it comes to picking up your favourite tipples too.

Tesco's current bargains

With the hot weather ongoing, parents are racing to Tesco to nab an 8ft pool that's been reduced to just £11.25.

Fashionistas may also want to head over to their nearest Tesco to grab a purse-friendly co-ord that's a must for the summer season ahead.

Foodies may also rush out to get their hands on the latest Heinz flavour that's been spotted on Tesco shelves.

While those jetting out later in the year for a summer family holiday may want to grab these kids’ bags that can be used as a backpack or suitcase & are reduced to £5

Booze can be expensive, but knowing you've managed to knock a few pounds off the price makes it taste a bit better.

How to compare prices to get the best deal

JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn't mean it's always a good deal.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that'll check prices for you - so don't be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

Here are some that we recommend:

  • Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
  • Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
  • Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
  • CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.
