Man Utd transfer news LIVE: United make Osimhen ‘top target’, Hojlund swap deal EXCLUSIVE, Cunha ‘swayed’ by Amorim

  • Osimhen 'top striking option'

Man Utd are reportedly pushing to sign Victor Osimhen for a cut-price.

The Nigerian forward is said to be Ruben Amorim's top striking target this summer as the Portugese boss looks to add firepower to his squad.

Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, and the Italian giants are keen to cash in on the forward in the coming months, with the attacker heading into the last year of his contract.

Man Utd are reportedly looking to strike a £40m deal for the striker.

  • First Dibs

United are eyeing up Tyler Dibling and Antoine Semenyo – but only if they miss out on main target Matheus Cunha.

Dibling is expected to leave Southampton after his breakout season, while Semenyo has been superb for Bournemouth.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, both players are an “alternative” to Cunha.

But United are “focusing on” getting the Brazilian through the door at Old Trafford.

  • Cunha hopeful of United deal

Cunha, 25, is optimistic of signing for United in the summer transfer window, reports Manchester Evening News.

The Red Devils will likely look to stagger the £62.5m release clause in instalments.

After Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Wolves, Amorim described Cunha as a player who shows “real quality”.

On Instagram, Cunha took a picture of himself in the gym mirror, with Yerson Mosquera and Nelson Semedo in the background.

He said in the post: “Vamos Trabalhar né (Let’s work shall we). Too much conversation."

  • Return of the Mac

Manchester United are among a host of clubs monitoring James McAtee, according to reports.

The Man City midfielder, 21, is contracted at the Etihad until the summer of 2026.

McAtee could move on if City land either Florian Wirtz or Morgan Gibbs-White.

  • Atletico Bilbao boss 'confident' of win

Athletic Club boss Ernesto Valverde has issued a warning to Man United ahead of their Europa League semi-final tie.

Valverde appears to like his side's chances of ruining United's bid for a return to Europe's elite competition.

The Basque club beat Las Palmas 1-0 on Wednesday in LaLiga and will have a week to prepare for the first leg at the San Mames.

He said: "The team are looking good, we're in good shape.

"This is what we wanted and we're confident."

  • Rashford future stance

Wes Brown admits he would love to see Marcus Rashford back in a Manchester United shirt next season.

The 27-year-old found himself out of favour under boss Ruben Amorim after being left out of almost all United matchday squads from his last appearance on December 12 until his loan transfer to Aston Villa in February.

Since making the move to Villa Park, Rashford has emerged as a key player under Unai Emery, contributing four goals and six assists.

Rashford's improved performances have helped propel Villa into the Champions League quarter-finals where they lost over two legs to PsG.

He was also called up to the most recent England squad by Three Lions boss, Thomas Tuchel.

  • Osimhen's incredible record

The centre-forward has not let the disappointment of missing out on a permanent move last year affect his form with Galatasaray.

The 26-year-old has 30 goals in 35 appearances for the Istanbul club.

Before pushing for a move out of Napoli, he scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for the Serie A club.

  • Is Osimhen already a United player?

Victor Osimhen has already signed an agreement to join Manchester United in the summer transfer window, reports claim.

A member of Osimhen's entourage has revealed that a United deal is already in place, according to sensational reports from Africa Foot.

  •  Dan Gore decision

Dan Gore will return to Rotherham United for the remaining two matches of their League One campaign.

Gore trained with the Reds' first team on Wednesday at Carrington but shall now return to the New York Stadium.

The youngster had returned to Carrington after picking up a foot injury at the start of his loan spell in South Yorkshire.

Since then, the manager who signed him on loan, Steve Evans has been sacked and replaced by Matt Hamshaw.

  • Cunha hopeful of United deal

Cunha is optimistic of signing for United in the summer transfer window, reports Manchester Evening News.

The Red Devils will likely look to stagger the £62.5m release clause in instalments.

  • Wood you believe it?

Man United are reportedly preparing to offer Preston North End goalkeeper Freddie Woodman a contract.

Woodman, 28, is set to be a free agent when his deal expires in the summer.

Football Insider have claimed that United, who would sign Woodman to be a back-up with Tom Heaton departing, want to bring the homegrown player to the club.

  • Baena interest

Red Devils have registered an interest in highly-rated Villarreal midfielder Alex Baena.

  • Double Serie A swoop

Atalanta duo Ederson and Mateo Retegui are both on Man United's radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

United are set to lose Christian Eriksen at the end of the season and a new midfielder is wanted.

A new attacker is also on the list and the two Atalanta stars have been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

  • Hazard pay

Eden Hazard was all set for a blockbuster move to Manchester United in 2012 - before the deal fell apart.

The Times claim United "refused Hazard's agent John Bico's demand for a secret multimillion-pound payment."

United had agreed a transfer fee with Lille and personal terms for the Belgian star, who went on to join Chelsea.

  • Foster fumes

Former Man Utd stopper Ben Foster is not convinced Ruben Amorim can turn the club's fortunes around.

Foster, who played for United between 2005 and 2010, told his Fozcast podcast: "They pale complexion of what they used to be.

"It's damningly true. I don't think they'll get top ten next year.

"Would Ruud van Nistelrooy have done a better job than Ruben Amorim at Man United, if he'd stayed on? ..

"I don't think Amorim is [the man for the job] either, to be honest with you."

  • He's a keeper

Manchester United reportedly have Atletico stopper Jan Oblak targeted to replace Andre Onana.

Oblak has "lost the confidence" of Atleti coach Diego Simeone, according to reports in Spain.

The keeper, 32, is also being eyed by a host of Saudi Pro League clubs.

  • Palace swoop

Manchester United have "made contact" over Jean-Philippe Mateta.

The Crystal Palace striker has netted 14 times in the Prem this season, including in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday.

CaughtOffside claim the Red Devils have made "initial contact" with the striker’s representatives.

Nottingham Forest and Atletico Madrid are also eyeing a move for the Eagles ace.

  • Shearer - United need more than Cunha

Reports suggest Matheus Cunha is set for a summer move to Old Trafford.

But Prem icon Alan Shearer believes the Wolves forward alone won't turn around the Red Devils' fortunes.

Shearer said: "[He] wouldn't make a difference for Man United - they're going to need another six or seven players on top of that.

"He'll be a welcome addition, absolutely. I don't know what they're going to have to pay for him. I suspect it's quite a hefty amount.

"Has he got talent? Absolutely. Is he a bit of a maverick? Yeah, but you get that with most good players - they have an edge to them and a side which some people may not like."

  • All change

Premier League fans have revealed their top 20 things that they would like to see implemented in football.

The list includes having diving players being instantly slapped with a red card and imposing salary caps.

  • Next five

With the Premier League season long since discarded, it's all on the Europa League now to save the Red Devils' campaign.

But before taking on Athletic Bilbao, Ruben Amorim's men travel to high-flying Bournemouth this weekend.

  • United lead race for 'Argentine Foden'

Man Utd have shown "firm" interest in Argentina wonderkid Franco Mastantuono, according to respected South American journalist Cesar Luis Merl.

That comes after SunSport exclusively revealed on Monday the Red Devils’ interest in the 17-year-old.

Mastantuono, the latest off the astonishing River Plate production line, became the youngest scorer in the club’s history in February 2024.

  • Mat leave

Man Utd are reportedly first in line for Wolves' Matheus Cunha.

Arsenal, Aston Villa and Saudi Pro League clubs are all interested in the Brazilian.

Cunha has a release clause of £62.5million and has netted 14 Premier League goals this season.

  • Not the Victors

Manchester United are reportedly not pursuing Victor Osimhen this summer.

  • Real chance

Manchester United are reportedly happy for Antony to join Real Betis this summer - but only if they get a player in return.

The on-loan Brazilian has resurrected his career in LaLiga following a dismal time at Old Trafford.

Antony arrived for £86million in 2023 but infamously had more yellow cards than goals for United.

Since his January move, the winger has contributed towards nine goals in 17 appearances.

According to El Nacional, United want a swap deal that includes Betis youngster Jesus Rodriguez.
